Today Aiden has a lot of therapy and starts radiation. I'm really hoping the radiation helps him with his pain and his movement/speech. The therapist said we will see a change in him soon, I hope that is right. Tomorrow is 4 weeks since he has talked or walked, I can tell he is wanting to get moving.
Have a great day, hopefully we do too!
Updates from Lisa:
We arrived to St. Jude on Tuesday 11th, at 10:00 pm and were getting situated until after midnight. They started at 9am the next day with the eye test, his swelling has come down 1 in the right eye, barely a 2 in left (it was a 4 in both eyes which was the worst). He had an X-ray after that and then MRI, they might do a lumbar puncture to check his spinal fluid.
Turns out there is swelling on Aiden's brain again. We are going to LeBoner hospital to have a shunt placed surgically. We left wednesday night, (it's only 1 mile away) St Jude doesn't do surgeries they work together for care. Hopefully Aiden will be able to start radiation on Wednesday. The shunt took precedence over radiation.
Thursday Morning: Nothing like a 5:30 CT scan! Josh and Braxten are on their way, I can't wait to see them.
Thursday afternon: He is done! The surgeon said he had a lot of pressure built up! He did really well in surgery and we are waiting for him to wake up. He stirred around before they brought him up but he's so sleepy.
Friday Afternoon the 14th: Aiden had a good surgery. He is still having some pain but I think it's more from the surgery. He had a CT scan this morning that showed the shunt is working, swelling is going down! He has some gas build up, his poor tummy is so bloated. Hopefully he can get some farts out to relive it! Looks like we will be staying one more night at LeBonheur. St Jude didn't have a room ready but will in the morning.
